Barabati Fort, according to reports, is situated at the heart of the town, about 8 km driving distance away from Cuttack Town. A beautiful thing to see, the Fort was built in the year 1497 AD during the reign of the Ganga dynasty on the banks of the river Mahanadi by Ananga Bhima Deb.<\/p>\n

The nine-storeyed palaces, other than that, had eight additional palaces on it. Later this Persian word, Asiana, became misinterpreted and was misreported to have been built by Mukundadev.<\/p>\n
