Guja Pahad Hill Station & Temple is situated on the backside of the Hirakud Dam reservoir in the Tillia Gram Panchayat of the Jharsuguda district. The stunning natural scenery and panoramic views inspire excitement and joy among visitors. Except during the summer months, this hilly area is consistently surrounded by reservoir water. At the summit of Guja Pahar, there is a tunnel that leads to the base of the hill.
There is also a cave that is enveloped by dense forest. “A great saint was departing,” the locals recount. He had once been organizing a Yangya. Apart from needing water, he had made all the necessary preparations. He manually dug a well beneath the banyan tree to store water. Eventually, the water flows out and cascades down as a perennial stream.” The Perennial Stream is one of the most attractive features of this site.
From the right side of Guja Pahar, another hill known as Deshar Hill can be observed. This hill is continually surrounded by the waters of the Hirakud Dam reservoir. More than a thousand wild cows inhabit the area, and no one seems to mind their presence. These cows do not behave like domesticated ones. Guja Pahad is located 60 kilometers from Jharsuguda and 40 kilometers from Belpahar.
