Jhumka Reservoir is a tributary to the Kuakhai River. This project was commissioned in 1973. Among the picnic spots near Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, Jhumka Lake is one of the best. Jhumka Dam is situated in the Chandaka forest range, 27 kilometers from Bhubaneswar and 30 kilometers from Cuttack. The Jhumuka irrigation project is one of the minor irrigation projects in the state of Odisha. It is built on Jumuka Nala near Kantabada village in Khordha district.

The best time to visit is post-monsoon, as the dam fills up, and the vegetation takes on a lush green appearance.
