The Biraja Calendar, which comes from Odisha’s Living Traditions, serves not only as a Culture Archive but also as a practical guide to spirituality for people today. The most important thing about the calendar is its accuracy, which comes from the authority of the Biraja Panjika. The knowledge contained within the calendar has been curated and developed over 30 years by Pandit Sri Chandra Sekhar Nanda.

Just like the Gregorian Calendar, the Biraja Odia Calendar has twelve months. The twelve months of the Biraja Odia Calendar are: (1) Baisakh, (2) Jaistha, (3) Ashadha, (4) Srabana, (5) Bhadrava, (6) Aswina, (7) Kartika, (8) Margasira, (9) Pausa, (10) Magha, (11) Phalguna, (12) Chaitra.

Just like the Western/Gregorian Calendar, there are six seasons in the Biraja Odia Calendar, as well: (1) Grishma, (2) Barsha, (3) Sharada, (4) Hemanta, (5) Shita, (6) Basanta.
