Though there is some debate over the history of the Boudh District, the majority of people believe it was a prominent Buddhist center in Odisha. According to epigraphic documents, the Boudh District was occupied by the Bhanja kings and was a part of Khinjali Mandala in the middle of the eighth century A.D.
Nettabhanja, the first recorded monarch of this Bhanja line, ruled over the Dhenkanal region as an autonomous ruler, but his successor migrated to the Boudh-Sonepur region and established Khinjali Mandala, subsequently ruling there as the liegeman of the Bhauma Karas of Tosali. In the meantime, the Muslims settled in Odisha.
The District Museum is next to the Boudh Collector’s Office. As far as the district’s rich history is concerned, the history, art, culture, literature, and monuments kept at the district museum are as vivid as ever. A Boudh king built the 100-year-old building, which was converted into a district museum a year ago. On the 27th Foundation Day of the Boudh, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik opened the Museum.
The museum is organized into divisions. The royal chambers, terracotta, coinage, the archives department, the Charu and Charu Kala chambers, the tourist chambers, famous persons, tribal chambers, handicrafts, scriptures, the canopy, and the old archives are among them.
There are also memorials to the period of the King instrument, such as the district, art and culture, handicrafts, ancient artifacts, unique things from the king’s reign, handicrafts and crafts of the District, art and culture, Ancient books, documents, photographs, and books. Signs in many languages have been placed to assist visitors in learning about the Museum. Boudh District Museum is a popular tourist destination in Boudh, Odisha.
