Alkudar Waterfall, situated in Simlipal National Park, is at a distance of about 13 km from Jashipur Market and 108 km from Baripada town. Good road communication is available near the falls, and the waterfall is visible after about 1-2 km of trekking on a small forest and hilly trail from the vehicle parking point.
The place is really extraordinary, and the dense forest surrounding it is picturesque and charming, housing a variety of flora and fauna. The water falls down with a height of almost 300 feet, cascading down the cliff. The waterfall has crystalline blue water where travelers usually take a dip.
This place is beautiful and a favorite with photographers. It is one of the few amazing picnic spots, especially during weekends and holidays. The Simlipal forest surrounding this waterfall, which is rich in flora and fauna, offers ample opportunities for nature walks and bird-watching activities.
Carry food, drinks, water, and a small first-aid kit. There are no tea stalls or rest stops. Tourists are advised to carry bottled water and dry snacks for trekking. The waterfall is at its majestic appearance from pre-monsoon time to just after monsoon (October-March). The fall is very vigorous, and the vegetation is blissful. Alkudar Waterfall is a major tourist destination in the Mayurbhanj District.
