The border between Kalahandi and Nabarangapur is not far from the Ambapani Wildlife Sanctuary. Gorgeous waterfalls and verdant forests encircle Ambapani Sanctuary. Ambapani Sanctuary serves as both a sanctuary and a national park. Mangroves, Teak, Palas, hair, Salaia, Bamboo, Terminenalia, Bel, Tendu, Hiwar, Zizphus Casia, Helicteres, Dhawda, Babul, Kauriculata, Bija, Sal, and other plants are among the main types of vegetation found in the Ambapani Sanctuary.
There is also a wide variety of fauna in Ambambani. Its most well-known feature is that it is home to several deer species. Samber, Chinkara, Blue Bull, Bear, Crocodile, Hyaena, and other frequently observed species include the leopard, sloth bear, wildbore, four-horned antelope, jungle fowl, barking deer, wild dog, and wild boar.
