Situated just 35 kilometers from Sambalpur, the Debrigarh Wildlife Sanctuary unfolds its scenic beauty nestled between the Hirakud Dam and Reservoir. Boasting a rich biodiversity, the Debrigarh Wildlife Sanctuary is home to over 40 species of mammals, 234 species of birds, 41 species of reptiles, 12 species of amphibians, 42 species of fishes, 39 species of odonates, and 85 species of butterflies. Internationally significant for its notable populations of Leopard, Bison, and Chousingha, the sanctuary also boasts magnificent waterfalls that contribute to its fame.
