The Butterfly Nature Park is situated almost 3 km from Daringbadi, closely located to Hill View Park, 102 km from Phulbani. The butterfly park is the second in order after Nandankanan Zoological Park in Bhubaneswar. It has approximately 20 to 30 species of butterflies, all of them spring or winter visitors.
The Nature Park is four hectares in area, developed by the state forest department. Visitors can enjoy the sight of numerous colored butterflies in the natural ecosystem, hence learning their significant roles in the environment. Butterfly Nature Park is a tourist attraction place near Daringbadi Hill Station.
Food and natural habitat have been provided for the butterflies to stay and breed. The plant life in the upper part of the Nature Park provides shelter and breeding areas for butterflies; this includes hibiscus, curry leaf citrus, bauhinia, ficus, palm, mango, guava, and bamboo.
There is a beautiful Medicinal garden, a Rose garden, and a Kutia Kondh tribe cottage and animals within the nature park. The Butterfly Park is located just beside Hill View Park. Daringbadi Natural Park stands out as one of the best spots to visit in the Kandhamal District.
