History of Maa Kichakeswari Temple

The temple stands at a height of approximately 100 feet. During the Mahabharata, the deity associated with Khichka was Khichkeswari, who was named after him. The structure of Kichakeswari Temple reaches a height of 100 feet. Construction of the temple took place between the 9th and 10th centuries.

It is believed that Panchupandava resided in this area during the Mahabharata. The temple grounds also honor Ganesha, Kartika, Dasbhuja Durga, and Chandrasekhar Mahadev. Basantika Durgapuja and Mahashiva Ratri are the major festivals celebrated at this temple. An important number of devotees visit to participate in these celebrations.
