Maa Barunei Temple and Karunei Pitha are situated at the foot of the Barunei Hills. It is just 5 km from Khordha to the east and south, near National Highway No. 5. Maa Barunei is one of Khorda’s presiding deities. This is also a Shaktipitha in Orissa. The temple was constructed by Ramachandra Dev. Swarga Ganga, a gurgling water stream, flows at present.
